Frank pulls open the door of Mr Tebbutt’s house and steps into the first fresh air he’s tasted in days. Disappointment sets in as he remembers he can’t breathe, so the air outside is much the same to him as what was to be found inside.
It took him a full day to be able to move more than his eyelids, but he can walk now. Well, he can stumble in a direction of his choosing. Mr Tebbutt is long gone by now. Frank’s screams brought him down to the basement almost immediately. Being confronted by the screaming corpse of someone he was sure he’d very thoroughly killed was enough for him, and he ran as far and as fast as he could, a trail of dark yellow urine left in his wake.
